Welcome to The Water Cooler

Readers tend to find redesigns annoying and inconvenient, akin to your favourite television programme being shifted to a new time slot. But in the case of Newsline, this is as much a reinvention as a redesign. Think of this new site, with its user-friendliness, additional content and interactive nature, as an essential accompaniment to the monthly magazine.

The most exciting of these new features are the multiple blogs, covering topics as diverse as politics, lifestyle, travel and sports. The Water Cooler will be a regularly-updated blog (check back every day for new posts) that provides instant reaction and analysis to the national and international news of the day.

Why The Water Cooler? Newsline does not want to have a one-way dialogue with its audience. We want you, the reader, to be an integral part of the conversation by having discussions on the comment boards, contributing guest posts and sending us your thoughts. Think of the new Newsline website as a place to hang out and chew over the issues affecting us all – not unlike the water cooler at your office.

Nadir Hassan is a senior assistant editor at Newsline. He has previously worked at various national and international media organizations.
