What do Shaan, Shehzad Roy and Sana Safinaz have in common?
They each went home with the most prestigious award in the Pakistani media industry – the Lux Style Awards (LSA). But the fabulous and fashionable recipients of the award did not have the opportunity to make rambling speeches or enjoy the walk of fame from their seats to a stage lit up in their honour. Instead, a low-key red carpet reception was held for the 24 winners from the field of film, TV, fashion and music at Studio 146 in the Korangi Industrial Area. The LSA invited only the press to a photo shoot of all the winners due to security issues.
Some of the winners expressed disappointment about missing out on the grandeur that LSA rolls out every year since 2002 – especially after the roaring success of Fashion Pakistan Week just two weeks prior.
The list of winners included Sania Saeed (Best TV Actress), Talat Hussain (Best Terrestrial TV Actor), Shaan (Best Film Actor), Maria Wasti (Best Film Actress for Ramchand Pakistani), Momina Duraid (Best TV Serial), Noman Ijaz (Best Satellite TV Actor), Shehzad Roy (Best Music Album) and Sana Safinaz (Achievement in Fashion Design – Couture).
