Hakimullah Mehsud, a deputy of Baitullah Mehsud, has declared Orakzai Agency as his own ‘Islamic Emirate’ and is demanding that the 63 Sikh families residing there pay jazia to him. The imposition of jazia by the militants in FATA is driving the Sikh community out of their homeland, where they have been residing and engaged in business much before the partition took place.
